Pure Happiness

France's Sylvain Chavanel described winning Tour de Frances second stage as "Pure Happiness". They say the track was a downhill rain swept road with many participants crashing. Sounds familiar to today's world. So much effort goes into a race, it does not happen that you win by accident. In fact Sylvain has not even finished the whole race.
How do we find our race through life? Is it a rain swept road? Have we crashed? Are we ready to keep going? Who is our support group, to help us back into the race? Are we ready to endure?
Life goes in seasons. Sometimes we bask in the happiness of rest---the next moment we are back into the meat grinding race. Pure Happiness really comes at the final finish line by one that has done all that he could and knows he has done what he has set out to do in following the Lord and His bidding.

At the end of the race will we be able to say:

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 2 Tim.4:7

This verse is refreshing while taking a needed drink during the race--a promise--a comfort

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint Isa. 40:31
