CONSUMING FIRE AND SACRIFICE: BIBLE STUDY

I have wondered the last couple of days about incense (prayer), fire,
and sacrifice. All these have something to do with revival or better
said you can not have a revival without them. The Old Testament is a
school master to reveal truths that are fulfilled in the New
Testament. If we neglect to study the Old do we miss the spirit of what
was done in the New?

Anyways what do you think of these verses?

1. How are we a sacrifice today? As a Christian, raising a family, not
engaging in bad habits and vices, etc, a "living sacrifice"?

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,
which is your reasonable service. Rom.12:1

2.What does it Mean that God is a "Consuming Fire"? Duet. 4:24; Heb.
12:29

3. Did fire sent from Heaven often mean the acceptance of a
sacrifice?
(Does that fire stand for love or the Holy Spirit, both or
something else?) (Of course sometimes it meant judgement.)

AT THE TABERNACLE
And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the
altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw,
they shouted, and fell on their faces. Lev. 9:24

GIDEON
Then the angel of the LORD put forth the end of the staff that was in
his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there
rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the
unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the LORD departed out of his
sight. Judges 6:21

ELIJAH
Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and
the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that
was in the trench. 1 Kings 18:38

DAVID
And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt
offerings and peace offerings, and called upon the LORD; and he
answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt offering.1
Chr. 21:26

APOSTLES
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty
wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there
appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon
each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost Acts
2:2-4

THE CHALLENGE A CONTINUAL BURNING
And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be
put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay
the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat
of the peace offerings. The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar;
it shall never go out. Lev. 6:12,13

4. What is Strange Fire today?

And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his
censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered
strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.And there
went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before
the LORD. Lev.10:1,2
