Lesson 6, O Wretched Man!

Today’s Quote: There is no man living who isn't capable of doing more
than he thinks he can do. Ford, Henry

Galatians 5:1-7

King James Version (KJV)

5 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us
free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.2 Behold, I
Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you
nothing.3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that
he is a debtor to do the whole law.4 Christ is become of no effect
unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen
from grace.5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of
righteousness by faith.6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision
availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by
love.7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the
truth?

New International Version (NIV)

5 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and
do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. 2 Mark
my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised,
Christ will be of no value to you at all. 3 Again I declare to every
man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the
whole law. 4 You who are trying to be justified by the law have been
alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. 5 For through
the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we
hope. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision
has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself
through love. 7 You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to
keep you from obeying the truth?
