Miracle Worker: Play About Hellen Keller and Anne Sullivan

About two weeks ago we went to Tuscumbia  AL to the Hellen Keller birth place to see the Miracle Worker play. It was very interesting to become reacquainted with the Helen Keller story. However the story revolves around Anne Sullivan who was formerly a blind orphan that comes to Alabama from Yankee Boston to the house of a Rebel captain to help his blind and deaf daughter break out of her dark cocoon. First you arrive at the birthplace grounds and tour the plantation house and outbuildings. After you go to the bleachers. In front is a multilevel stage for various scenes that take place in the house, yard, and outbuilding, train station, etc. They are cut-aways. All through the act they have to mimes using sign language to interpret the act's dialog to any who may be deaf. They mixed up our reserved seating tickets and forgot to assign us numbers so they placed us in the VIP seating upfront by the stage. It worked out okay though being the modest Mennonites that we are, we were at first a little self-conscience. More so because our rowdy boys are a little unpredictable in such settings.
The play starts with Helen's birth and skips along at a pretty brisk pace. Her teenage brother and also the cook bring a little comic relief. The Captain did a good job booming around and acting big and yet in the end shows his soft side as in the end he gives in to his "Helen". Imagine having a little savage girl going around the dinner table sampling everyone's food. She was rather spoiled.
Throw young disciplinarian Anne Sullivan on the scene and you soon have chaos. I liked the skit and it made me appreciate the Helen Keller story more. Though I would say the drama is even more appreciated by the femmine part of your family. It is amazing what perseverance and determination can accomplish against great odds. However I believe desperate prayer on the behalf of mother and Anne Sullivan and the blind girls definitively played a big part --though not mentioned in the skit. It was a miracle there is no doubt.

However I would say more but perhaps you would like to discover it out yourself. Northern Alabama, Tuscumbia at 6:45 pm -10:30pm. Apparently the word is out amongst the Mennonites because we seen quite a few couples and youth there from Mississippi.

To me it was a testament to the mercy of God and that when helping someone in a seemingly hopeless situation---one needs to look up to God:

With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Matt 19:26

Boycott Starbucks???

My family just sent me a Starbucks Gift Certificate in the mail. Before I could use it I hear Christian groups are trying to boycott that store because in a recent meeting the Starbuck staff said that the

" Seattle-based coffee company mentioned support for same-sex marriage as a core value of the company. "
As far as that goes Starbucks is not alone other name brands are promoting that standard. I am definitely not too happy to hear this, but I am not overly surprised.
Anti-God Messages on Cups?
Also there has been quite a debate over their Anti-God messages on some of their cups. Incidentally they claim that they also have pro God statements on other cups. They are part of  program of quotes on their cups called, "As I see it".
see this link for the details on this: http://www.wnd.com/2007/05/41531/
As far as Boycotting.......... read this from Moore:
Some Christians are wondering whether we ought to join in the boycott.
 I say no.
It’s not that I’m saying a boycott in and of itself is always evil or wrong. It’s just that, in this case (and in many like it) a boycott exposes us to all of our worst tendencies. Christians are tempted, again and again, to fight like the devil to please the Lord.
A boycott is a display of power, particularly of economic power. The boycott shows a corporation (or government or service provider) that the aggrieved party can hurt the company, by depriving it of revenue. The boycott, if it’s successful, eventually causes the powers-that-be to yield, conceding that they need the money of the boycott participants more than they need whatever cause they were supporting. It is a contest of who has more buying power, and thus is of more value to the company.
We lose that argument.
(I liked this article from the perspective of nonresistance.) I scanned over it and liked it at face value.  See the rest on http://www.russellmoore.com/2012/03/25/should-christians-boycott-starbucks/

In the News: Think it through the next time you kidnap your youth group

A youth group was having a study evening, when men came in and forced pillowcases onto the 17 Pennsylvanian youth's heads and ushered them into a van for interrogation. They then drove to the pastor's house where they told them it was just a mock-up to  illustrate what it may take to be a missionary on the foreign field. I guess it was pretty big surprise because a parent filed a report to the police and it has a chance to turn unpleasant. At first thought it could prove to be an interesting object lesson, but it seems a little more prep work is needed for such extra-curricular activities here in America.

Truth about the Mayan Apocalypse

The Mayans were a prosperous civilization of pyramids, temples, and astronomy centered in Southern Mexico and upper Central America. They had a time system based on 364 day year to help them plant there precious corn. My wife and I hit alot of Maya sites when we taught school in Belize. The mystical quietness of stone centers tucked away in the jungle intrigued me. It was not hard to tell that there was at one time alot of activity and industry to build the massive stone temples. The civilization flourished around 300-900 AD and then suddenly declined. The big cities became abandoned to be overgrown by jungle. Aviators and explorers around the early 1900's started the exciting search of uncovering the cities and trying to piece together the mysteries of the Mayas. It is thought that poor soils, drought, over farming, and war could have brought about the downfall and disappearance of many of these cities. As for the Mayas themselves they migrated to new centers in Guatemala and S. Mexico. After the coming of the Spanish they became slaves and farm laborers. When Mexico became independent they fought a little known Caste War for their freedom in the Yucatan. There is about 10 million descendants of the Ancient Mayas today.

As for there scientific discoveries and this latest Apocalypse craze, the mysteries of the Mayas tap into our imagination. The things that fascinated me was that nobody really could tell you exactly what was what despite the fact that there was no shortage of tour guides. I did piece together that they used certain pyramids to cast shadows or create shadows to help them keep track of time and seasons. Others were tombs or memorials to great leaders. (My personal opinion is that they used the pyramids for communication as they may have mirrored a code or used smoke signals. The reason I think this is because you can just about see another Maya ruin just on the horizon.) I don't think it was quite like internet, though.
They were time keepers. Many stella rocks in their squares told the timelines of kingdoms and reigns. They definitively studied the sky, sun  and stars. The end of their year ends on Dec. 21. They calculated there time up to Dec. 21, 2012. It must have seemed like a good time to stop. They believed in yearly cycles and they decided 2012 for some reason was a good time to figure to, Perhaps it will be the end----If it is the end are you ready for it?? The Foundation of Truth is the Bible and if you will take the "time" lets see what it has to say about the Time of the Apocalypse.

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Matt. 24:36-39

For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Matt. 24:27

The day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them....... and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.  1 Thess. 5:2-6

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. Rev. 22:12

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.....Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Matt 24:42,44

Hymns and Praise Choruses

I received this little article on Hymns and Choruses. I am not definite on its origins. If some one is able to produce the source of this writing I will post it. I will let you draw your own conclusions. It is probably more from a Mennonite viewpoint.

I personally feel that today we have too many 7/11 songs -- 7 words repeated 11 times***.

An old farmer went to the city one weekend and attended the big city church. He came home and his wife asked him how it was.
"Well," said the farmer, "It was good. They did something different however. They sang praise choruses instead of hymns."
"Praise choruses?" asked his wife, "What are those?"
"Oh they're okay, I guess. They are sort of like hymns, only different," said thefarmer.
"Well, what is the difference?" asked his wife.
The farmer said, "Well, its like this:

If I were to say to you, 'Martha, the cows are in the corn', well that would be a hymn.
If on the other hand, I were to say to you, Martha, Martha, Martha, Oh Martha, MARTHA,MARTHA, the cows, the big cows, the brown cows, the black cows, the white cows, the black and white cows, the COWS, COWS, COWS, are in the corn, are in the corn, are in the corn, are in the CORN, CORN, CORN, and then if I were to repeat the whole thing two or three times, well, THAT would be a praise chorus!"

Wow, Wow,Wow : Last Word of Steve Jobs

Man of ingenuity, creativity, and technology, Steve Jobs last word were, "Wow, Wow,Wow" as he was breathing his last looking beyond his family around his bedside focused on something beyond us here. What did he see?  Whatever it was it must have been impressive. We all do well to think about what lies ahead.

Cheaper Than Leather Shoes

Many times we are so sheltered from the true face of the real world. We see it's gilded side. Our young people at times see it as inviting, seducing friend. They don't notice the pain, sorrow and wages of sin. The hurts, the pain and despair. For me ----the emptiness. The gnawing feeling that eats on my soul that is naked and uncomfortable that tells me----that I am not finding fulfillment no matter what I do. A evil chuckle from somewhere in the background announces that I never will. I am deceived into believing that only the short lived pleasures and highs of this life are the closest I will get to any fulfillment.
However there is so much hope and life in Jesus Christ, because he comes to set the captives free. He restores the Truth that we were made to be servants to God, not to languish as a slave to self. Millions are possibly a prayer or tract away from deliverance from the grasps of the wicked world if we would but make effort to spread the light of the Gospel.
For myself I am a product of prayer of others. In a sense we all are. Our parents, grandparents, a mission or church group, and even some Christian out there praying earnestly for the souls of the lost, whom we may never see in our life---these people's prayers have reached the throne of grace. The end of the world will come --it is suggested by the fact that will God find faith in the World when he comes. So let us pray.....
Here is a painful prayer request for Lance Giesbrecht's neighbors in Ukraine. It seems Eastern Europe has more than its share of sorrows in the realm of "white slavery".
JLT.

The Prayer Request:
This story below reminds us of Christina and Angela, our Ukraine neighbor girls. Christina was isolated and put to work servicing men by her mom after she was born again this summer at Bible Camp…  We are praying mightily for them and for their mom.

A Excerpt from the story Cheaper Than Shoes by Elora

She glances at the man out of the corner of her eye and quickly wipes the stray tear inching down her cheek. I can’t do this anymore, she thinks. She’s just. so. tired. Her body aches. With a resigned sigh, she crosses her legs and pulls her jacket closer to her skin, protecting what’s exposed to the harsh wind coming from outside. What’s underneath would hardly count for clothing, and she silently hopes she won’t be sent to the streets this evening. Her feet still have blisters oozing from the heels she wore last night and there’s a purple bruise on her knee from where she tripped from a crack in the sidewalk. She whimpers at the memory – running from a drunk man, hearing the laughter of those around her when she fell, the whispers of slut and whore bouncing off the alley way. She closes her eyes and thinks of before this - laughing with her mom, fetching water with her sister, dreaming with her best friend.
She forgot what it was like to dream.
.......The man leaning against the wall taking in his surroundings catches her eye and smiles. He throws an obscene gesture her way and winks. Her heart sinks and she braces inwardly for him to come over.
“How much for a massage from this one?” he asks, pointing at her with a foreign glint in his eye. He is young. Successful. He holds a brochure in his hand with no words – she recognizes it as one the boys pass out at the airport.
.........The shop owner glances behind him, following the man’s gaze. Looking the girl up and down, he shrugs. “Twenty. Good price.

Closing her eyes, she breathes deep his scent as he walks up to her. She studies his shoes for awhile. Leather. Expensive. A small scratch on the right foot – almost as if he ran into a twig while running. She refuses the realization he probably paid more for his shoes than he did for a short session with her. His hand wrap around her small arm and she winces at the strength. Her pulse becomes erratic and she lifts up a silent prayer, hoping someone is listening. Oh, God. Please let this be a dream. Please let the pain end. Please?

Someone is listening, right?
.........Lifeless. Forgotten. Invisible........

.........Someday, she thinks, someday someone will listen. Someone will hear, and she turns toward the window and watches the coming sun cast light against the deep black of another day.

Passing Thoughts: Mennonites in Flip Flops

http://theaestheticelevator.com/2009/07/01/intentional-observation-mennonites-in-flip-flops/

I thought this may interest my Holdeman readership. Such a simple article of clothing brings considerable amount of comment of which alot of us have heard about. I guess a Christian's goal is to dress in such a way that one's character is able be noticed over the noise of his clothes even when he is saying nothing. Make sense? There is probably a better way to say it :)

Bible School in Progress

I am not done with the material I gathered in Haiti, but my wife and I are on the Bible School Committee here in Faunsdale AL. Our attendance has been 73 children and so far it has been quite enjoyable and a stable enviroment. The teachers are doing a great job. So after next week I should have found some time to post more on the Haiti projects and mission, etc. Thank-you for your interest.

Tuscaloosa Tornado on Google Earth

Tuscaloosa news photo

Tuscaloosa is our town were we go shopping and now it is hard to believe how much of it is leveled.  We have not been able to see any of the damage up close or have been able to help there because a couple of deadly tornadoes have hit even closer to home.

I have Google Earth and seen the tornado path KLM downloads. I clicked on my "Layers" on my tool bar "places" and unchecked all the other layers except roads and then zoomed in on Tuscaloosa on my map. You will see a blue twister emblem on the map that says Southern Tornadoes.
It will box out an area and you can clearly see the path through town. It also shows the Birmingham, AL twister which is in Jefferson County.
The big building below the path is the University Mall. The big building to the North of the path is DCH hospital. Both are on McFarland in Tuscaloosa. The intersection of McFarland and 15th Street is the one you see in quite a few pictures of the destruction. It was definitely one of the most busy commercial intersections in town. To see how the area looked before the tornado be sure to drag the street view man icon to that intersection and other areas for 360 views. To see a load of images of the destruction google Tuscaloosa News and go the McFarland albums to see this area.

Mat God be with all the people that lost loved ones, homes and jobs.

Alabama Tornados April 27, 2011

About a week and a half before we had spent a Sunday clearing debris and trees from a neighborhood north of Greensboro AL. Then we were warned that Wednesday was ideal conditions for major tornado activity on a broad front. Schools were let out and we watched fast moving clouds come from the S.W. In the super cells you could see constant sheet lightining that increased as it got to eight and nine o'clock. Around six or so I was in Demopolis doing errands and checking up on our ice cream shop. I was in Radio Shack when I heard a tornado had been spotted 5 miles north and was heading towards Greensboro in my county called Hale. I phoned my wife and took off for home. We eventually had to go to our neighbors house to vacate our mobile home when someone later warned us of a tornado coming more from the south. In fact that tornado did not do much damage, but a number of our church people saw that funnel as it tracked across our area.
The tornado to the north that I had heard about in town hit a hamlet called Sawyerville and killed a number of people. Two of my fellow employees the next day gave us a report. A lot of our church brethren were volunteer firemen so they helped locate survivors and bodies between 6-12pm. If I have it right to tornadoes passed along nearly the same track because the rescue unit had to wait for the second tornado to pass. Not to mention this was five miles or less from the other week's two path tornado. Absolutely crazy. The next day   they called for thirty volunteers to search for some more bodies. Our work crew returned to help even though we were nearly two hours from home. By the time we arrived it was done, so we focused on clearing a area for Red Cross,  and help people clear their yards and drive ways, etc. Basically it was walking up the road house to house. Since Tuscaloosa happened at the same time thirty minutes to the north mainly the  locals know about the Sawyerville tornado. Hard to keep track which all towns got hit. I think just in this one local tornado I heard  say twenty three to thirty homes were heavily damaged to destroyed. A lot of places the trailer frames were wrapped around trees. Debris was spread across timber ground. Trees were snapped off about ten feet from the ground giving the area a clear cut look. Wreckage was everywhere. Cars were flung into the mauled timber, etc. Your eyes got tired of devastation. So many trees were down that it took rescuers three hours to reach the worst hit area about three or two miles from the main road. At least one man bled to death because there was simply no way out or in until the roads were clear. It rained a little but not as much as usual.
My wife's family was out from CA and feel like Alabama is quite a dangerous place to live.

A Carrot, Egg, and Coffee

You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life
and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was
going to make it and wanted to give up She was tired of fighting and
struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with
water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In
the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in
the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil;
without saying A word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the
carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and
placed them in a bowl.
Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to
her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what you see."  "Carrots, eggs, and
coffee," she replied.
Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She
did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter
to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed
the hard-boiled egg.
Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The
daughter smiled, as she tasted its rich aroma the daughter then asked,
"What does it mean, mother?"
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same
adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in
strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the
boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile.
Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after
sitting through the boiling water, its insides became hardened. The
ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the
boiling water, they had changed the water.
"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on
your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee
bean?
Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but
with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my
strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the
heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a
financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and
stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and
tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot
water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets
hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean,
when things are at their worst, you get better and change the
situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are
their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you
handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to
make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to
make you happy.
 The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The
brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't
go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and
heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was
smiling.
Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and
everyone around you is crying.
You might want to send this message to those people who mean
something to you; to those who have touched your life in one way or
another; to those who make you smile when you really need it; to those
who make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down;
to those whose friendship you appreciate; to those who are so
meaningful in your life.

Four Men that Rule from the Grave?

This article caught my eye and it brought together some explanations that made sense to me, see how it impresses you. It is written by W. Nugent

In postmodern western civilization most people claim to be free thinkers yet are enslaved to the ideas of four men who rule the world from the grave. The four men are Charles Darwin (1809 - 1882), Karl Marx (1818 - 1883), Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 - 1900) and Sigmund Freud (1856 - 1939).
These four men of the nineteenth century were the wrecking balls of western civilization. Their poisonous ideas challenged traditional Christian views and seduced Europe and America into a grand social experiment in unbelief.
What philosophers discuss over tea in one generation is taught in college in the next. A generation later it's taught in high school. Then it's in popular culture and finally it's even taught in primary school.
Charles Darwin's atheistic theory of evolution undermined the Christian faith of hundreds of millions. Marx, Nietzsche and Freud were directly and profoundly influenced by Darwin's writings.
The Darwinian contention that human beings are nothing more than soulless descendants of apes who have no conscious existence after death became the presuppositional foundation of the whole secular intellectual edifice.
Ironically, Darwin's biographers freely admit that Darwin offered very little original thought in his famous 1859 book "The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection." Evolution as a theory of natural history had preceded him by at least two generations. Earlier writers had even discussed natural selection. Darwin's own grandfather, Erasmus Darwin, had written on evolution.
Until Darwin, evolution had been confined to the smallest corner of the intellectual elite. Darwin is famous because he tied all the loose ends together and presented it in an orderly way that caught fire among a far wider range of educated people.
Darwin is also famous for his extremely confrontational and racist 1871 book "The Descent of Man." This book was penned to counter the criticism of his 1859 book and to fully and boldly develop his belief that human beings are descended from apes.
The Descent of Man is unfortunately overtly racist and claims that certain brown skinned peoples are less evolved than the Europeans. This gave great momentum to biological based racism and gave it intellectual respectability.
Aborigines were legally hunted like big game in Australia. Belgians in the Congo shot black natives with impunity. Hitler quoted extensively from Darwin in his book, "Mein Kampf," and developed his claim of Aryan superiority from Darwinian principles.
In the United States, in the late nineteenth century, evolution was taught and discussed only among the educated elite.
Evolution was taught only at the university level and to some degree in the high schools. In the 1880s only about 4% of American students went on to high school which was called secondary school. Only about 1% of the population went to college. All the rest were educated in primary school up to the eighth grade.
The well educated people in the US were increasingly secularized while the primary schools still held to traditional Christian values. This led to a divide between the upper class and the common man that persists to a degree down to the present generation. Secular Humanism has emerged as the dominant faith of the elite. Darwinism is its origins myth.
Karl Marx and Charles Darwin were contemporaries and familiar with each other's work. Marx was influenced by Darwin and mentioned him in his book, "Das Kapital." Marx subscribed to a philosophy of economic determinism. He regarded economic gain as the strongest urge of the human animal. He regarded humans as animals; as mere atoms in motion.
Marx subscribed to the Hegelian concept that human government is greater than the sum of its parts. Thus we have the Marxist illogic that regards the individual as worthless but if you put the individuals together into a government then you have something of real value. Marx considered human government the savior of mankind that would lead people to utopia.
Marx's writings inspired generations of revolutionaries that embarked on the largest economic social experiment of all time. The experiment to see if an all powerful government owning all property could create a perfect utopian society failed miserably. Historians estimate that between 70 million and 100 million people were killed by communist governments in their quest for utopia.
Nevertheless Marxist ideas still guide the socialistic tendencies of all the modern democracies of Europe and of North and South America.
A generation after Darwin and Marx a bolder and more passionately atheistic philosopher arose. His name was Friedrich Nietzsche and he believed that humans are most profoundly motivated by a desire to dominate others. Nietzsche called this "the will to power."
Nietzsche was an existentialist philosopher. Existentialism is radical individualism in which the individual must exert his own will and throw off social convention to create his own unique life. He regarded those who lived according to the rules as inauthentic, as mere followers and small minded.
Nietzsche rejected God's law and wrote some overtly blasphemous things. He also had radical views on politics. He was of the opinion that all the great civilizations of the ancient world were built on slavery and brutality in which the intellectual elite lived luxuriously off of the hard labor of the many.
He rationalized that slavery and oppression were good because it freed the elite to build fabulous buildings and produce great works of art. Hitler read Nietzsche extensively and even gave copies of Nietzsche's books to his officer corps.
Nietzsche's existentialism and atheism was very influential among the intellectuals of his own time and reverberates down to our own day especially in postmodernism. Nietzsche influenced the existentialist philosophers Jean Paul Sartre and Albert Camus and their post WWII philosophy of pessimism. The youth rebellion of the 1960s had many elements of Nietzschean radical existentialism.
Sigmund Freud regarded sexuality as the principle motivator of humans. His entire psychoanalytic therapy is based on the influence of sexual feelings and desires. He was especially concerned with repression of sexual urges and how that influenced the mental health of the individual.
Those he influenced went on to launch the sexual revolution in which traditional family structure and fidelity were abandoned. This also is a great social experiment that is ruining lives all across the world. Family breakdown, child abandonment, abortion of millions of babies and the spread of more than three dozen varieties of sexually transmitted disease are grim witness to sexual anarchy.
Darwin saw man as a soulless animal motivated only by the will to survive. Marx saw man as a purely economic creature. Nietzsche saw man through the lens of power and the will to rule others. Freud saw man as motivated disproportionately by sex. Their blasphemy and lawlessness has torn the heart out of humanity and brought about the alienation and despair that leads to lawlessness, family breakdown, serial killings, shooting sprees and teenage suicide.
Darwin, Marx, Nietzsche and Freud worked no miracles and had no supernatural accreditation yet billions of people follow them. These four men offered nothing but a vain attempt at utopia in this life and no promise of life hereafter.
Jesus Christ by contrast came in fulfillment of over three hundred predictive prophecies that were written in the Old Testament hundreds of years before His birth. He worked miracles among the people of his time and miracles still occur today in His name.
Jesus taught us God's morals and He lived a perfect life and then suffered and died for our sins. We receive forgiveness of sins through Christ. He is the promised Messiah of Israel and the redeemer of all mankind.
Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. This also was foretold by the prophets. Those four men rule from the grave but Christ rules from heaven and is greater than all.

Sharing on Op-Noah

I know there are a number that read Op-Noah, but few contribute with comments or any feed back. I would like to see more people submit some inspirations. Let me know from time to time what is hitting the mark. I want to do something positive to the community at large and hopefully as a Christian I along with you can point souls to the Cross. I would like to hear from you some ideas for Op-Noah. I would like to hear of some more inspiring websites or blogs that you as readers know about.

My e-mail is jonluketws@gmail.com

send me an e-mail from time to time. I do not care about what the right or left hand doeth, but it is nice to get feedback from time to time to know somebody is out there. Thanks.
